In July 2006, Sungrow has self-developed the first grid-connected inverter and successfully grid-connected to local power network in Hohehot, Inner Mongolia. Since then, Sungrow has opened up new areas of application of small wind turbines in China. After few years of research and development of grid-connected wind inverters, Sungrow has achieved the mass production of wind inverters. Nowadays, Sungrow has acquired CE certification and few patents of a wide range of grid-connected inverters for small wind turbine which have been exported to the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.
Grid-connected wind generation system mainly consists of wind generators, rectifiers, electronics (discharging) load, and the grid-connected inverter. The power generated from the system will be grid-connected into the local power utility network.
